BEFORE YOU APPLY
Do You Meet the Basic Sperm Donor Requirements?
Before beginning the application, confirm that you meet Cryobank OC’s initial requirements. Applicants must:
Be between 19 and 39 years old
Be at least 5 feet 5 inches tall
Maintain a healthy BMI and overall health
Live within approximately 40 miles of our Costa Mesa laboratory
Be legally authorized to work in the United States
Hold a college degree or be actively pursuing higher education
Be willing to complete extensive medical, genetic, psychological, infectious-disease, background, and semen-quality screening
Be able to provide three generations of biological family medical history
Have no prior participation in another sperm bank’s donor program
Be willing to donate one to two times per week for at least one year

What Happens After You Submit a Sperm Donor Application?
Check Your Email
The application is reviewed against Cryobank OC’s initial eligibility criteria. If your responses meet the basic requirements, you will receive an email explaining the next step.
Review the Preparation Instructions
Your email will explain how to prepare for the initial semen analysis, including the required 48- to 72-hour abstinence period and the designated donor intake hours at our Costa Mesa laboratory.
Submit Initial Semen Sample
The laboratory evaluates whether your sample meets Cryobank OC’s initial semen-quality and processing requirements. The initial visit and any qualification retests are not compensated.
Continue Through Screening
Applicants who pass the initial stage may be invited to complete the full sperm donor screening and testing process.
Receive Final Approval
Candidates who successfully complete every required stage may be admitted into our Sperm Donor Program. You'll then be invited to submit 1-2 weekly donations.
